The backless crop top is what you get when you are searching for an easy to make summer top that works up super fast. This top can be finished in about 3 hours. You only have to crochet the front while the back is made up of only straps. This post contains the written instructions for the backless crop top in bust size 30-32 inches. This top is great for the summer weather. It’s very beginner friendly and a very easy pattern. The written pdf pattern contains four sizing options from bust 30 to bust 44 inches. The bust 30-32 inches size is written below.

Dk weight yarn – 100g ball
4.5 mm crochet hook
Stitch markers
Stitch Guide (US Version)
Ch: Chain
Sc: Single Crochet
DC: Double Crochet
Slst: Slip stitch

Gauge :
16 stitches /13 rows = 10 cm/4 inches in Lemon stitch
Pattern note
- Ch 1 at the beginning of the row does not count as a stitch.
- Top is worked bottom up
Pattern Instructions
Ch 57
Row 1: Sc into the second chain from hook, *Dc in the next stitch, Sc in the next stitch* repeat across row. Finish row with Dc into the last stitch. 56 stitches
Row 2: Ch 1,turn. Sc in the first stitch, *Dc in the next stitch, Sc in the next stitch* repeat across row. Finish row with Dc into the last stitch. 56 stitches
Row 3-16: repeat row 2 56 stitches
Row 17: Ch 1,turn. Sc in the first stitch, skip next stitch *Sc in the next stitch, Dc in the next stitch* repeat across row. Finish row with Sc into the 4th to the last stitch, Dc into the 3rd to the last stitch. Skip the 2nd to the last stitch, Dc into the last stitch. 54 stitches
Row 18: Ch 1,turn. Sc in the first stitch, skip next stitch *Dc in the next stitch, Sc in the next stitch* repeat across row. Finish row with Sc into the 3rd to the last stitch, Skip the 2nd to the last stitch, Dc into the last stitch. 52 stitches
Row 19-30: keep alternating row 17 and 18 (28 stitches)
Chain 250(300), skip first stitch, Slst through the back bump all the way down, Sc into the next stitch and in each of the next 25 stitches, chain 250 skip first stitch, Slst through the back bump all the way down Sc into the last stitch
Edging
For the 14 rows of decreases, Work 1 Sc into the row with Sc on the edge and 2 Sc into the row with Dc on the edge 21 Sc
Sc, Ch 3, Sc into the next 11 stitches, Ch 3, Sc into the next 11 stitches, Ch 3, Sc into the last stitch. Sc into the 56 stitches on the bottom.
Sc, Ch 3, Sc into the next 11 stitches, Ch 3, Sc into the next 11 stitches, Ch 3, Sc into the last stitch.
For the 14 rows of decreases, Work 1 Sc into the row with Sc on the edge and 2 Sc into the row with Dc on the edge 21 Sc Ch 1 and cut yarn.
FINISHING
Weave in all ends.
LACING THE STRAPS
Thread the strap through the first Ch 3 spaces on the same side with the straps. Lace the straps in a criss-cross manner for the remaining Ch 3 spaces. See picture of finished top below
