Worsted weight yarn in four colours

Colour A =Green

Colour B = White

Colour C = Red

Colour D = Black

 3.5  mm crochet hook

Scissors

Tapestry Needle

18 stitches/16 rows = 10cm/4 inches in Sc

Ch:  Chain

Sc: Single Crochet

Hdc: Half double crochet

Dc2tog: Double crochet two together

Slst: Slip stitch

Pattern Notes

Pattern Instructions

With colour A Ch 25

Row 1: 1 Sc in the 2nd chain from the hook, Mark the stitch with a stitch marker,  1 Sc  in each stitch across. 24 stitches.

Row 2: Ch 2, 2 Hdc in the 1st stitch, mark the very first stitch, 1 Hdc in the next 8 stitches, 2 Hdc in each of the next 6 stitches, 1 Hdc in the next 8 stitches, 2 Hdc in the last stitch. 32 stitches.

 Row 3: Ch 2,  2 Hdc in the 1st stitch, mark the very first stitch, 1 Hdc in the next  30 stitches,  2 Hdc in the last stitch, finish the last Hdc with SS with colour B 34 stitches.

 Row 4:  (With colour B) 1 Sc in the front loop only of the 1st stitches, mark stitch, 1 SC in the front loops only in each stitch across finish the last Sc with SS with colour C 34 stitches.

 Row 5: (With colour C) 1 Hdc in 1st stitches, mark stitch, 1 Hdc in each stitch across 34 stitches.

 Row 6: Ch 1, 1 Sc in the 1st stitch, mark stitch, 1 Sc in the next 8 stitches, 1 Hdc in the next 4 stitches, Dc2tog 4 times, 1 Hdc in the next 4 stitches,  1 Sc in the last 9  stitches. 30 stitches.

 Row 7: Ch 1, 1 Sc in the 1st stitch, mark stitch, 1 Sc in the next 8 stitches,  1 Hdc in the next 4 stitches , Dc2tog 2 times, 1 Hdc in the next 4 stitches,  1 Sc in the last 9 stitches. 28 stitches.

 Row 8: Ch 2, 1 Hdc in the 1st stitch, mark stitch, 1 Hdc in the next 6 stitches, chain 12.

Row 9: skip 4 chains, 1 Hdc in the remaining 8 chains, 1 Hdc in the 7 stitches of the previous row. Cut yarn.

 Rejoin yarn (Colour C) to the other side and repeat row8 and 9. Cut yarn.

Thread a yarn needle with colour D and make the watermelon seeds by making random stitches in front of the booties.

Count 3 stitches away from the 2 Dc2tog on row 7 on both sides and sew white buttons on.

 FINISHING

With right sides facing, sew up seam, the part with Colour A should be sewn with Colour A yarn, the part with Colour B should be sewn with Colour B  yarn and the part with Colour C should be sewn with Colour C yarn. . Weave in ends.
