MAS: Modified Alpine Stitch
Yarn over, insert the hook around the front post of the desired stitch, yarn over, pull through (you have three loops on your hook, yarn over insert through the same spot, yarn over, pull through ( you have five loops on your hook) yarn over pull through four, yarn over pull through two.
Pattern notes
Ch 1 or 2 at the beginning of the row does not count as a stitch
The bootie is worked flat and bottom up

Row 1: 1 Sc in the 2nd chain from the hook, Mark the stitch with a stitch marker, 1 Sc in each stitch across. 24 stitches.

Row 3: Ch 2, 2 Hdc in the 1st stitch, mark the very first stitch, 1 Hdc in the next 30 stitches, 2 Hdc in the last stitch. 34 stitches.
Row 4: 1 Sc in the front loop only of the 1st stitches, mark stitch, 1 Sc in the front loops only in each stitch across 34 stitches.
Row 5: 1 Hdc in the 1st stitch, mark stitch, 1 Hdc in each stitch across 34 stitches.
Row 6: Ch 1, 1 Sc in the 1st stitch, mark stitch, 1 Sc in the next 8 stitches, 1 Hdc in the next 4 stitches, Dc2tog 4 times, 1 Hdc in the next 4 stitches, 1 Sc in the last 9 stitches. 30 stitches.
