Learn to crochet the easy peasy crochet cardigan with this simple beginner friendly pattern.
Cardigans are perfect baby gifts, no matter the gender, all year round, its great for all seasons, you can be sure that cute little baby is going to love it.
The easy peasy crochet baby cardigan is a very beginner friendly pattern and the pattern repeat is quite easy and the cardigan requires no seaming.
I used about 300 yards of light worsted weight yarn for the 0-6 months size. The yarn fiber is cotton, you can be sure it will be soft on your baby’s delicate skin.
The easy peasy baby cardigan is worked top down, so you will be working from the neckline down. The yoke is a perfect square. It will sure sit on the baby’s shoulders perfectly.
For the lower part, I used a simple stitch combination which is made up of double crochet and slip stitch. Then I made the bottom edging and then the button band and the button holes band. I made the sleeves next and then finished the cardigan by attaching the buttons.
The easy peasy crochet baby cardigan contains instructions for sizes 0-6(6-12,12-18,18-24) months. This blog post however contains instructions for size 0-6 months in both US and UK terms. Please scroll to the bottom if you prefer to work with the UK terms.
