The crochet ‘beanie on fire’ hat uses the tapestry crochet technique to make the burning fire. The hat requires the knowledge of tapestry crochet. This is a cute hat to make this halloween.
This post contains the written instructions for this hat in size small adult size. It’s very easy easy to follow pattern. The written pdf pattern contains three sizing options from child to large adults. The small adult size is written below.

Pattern note
- Chain 1 does not count as a stitch.
- Knowledge of tapestry crochet is key in working this pattern
- The beanie is worked flat and sideways
- Scblo stitches serves as the brim of the hat, in the instructions of this pattern, it is worked in red yarn, however, if you want the brim in a different colour, you can work the Scblo stitches in any colour of your choice.

Finishing
Fold in half, and Slst together, making sure that the black chain at the beginning of the project does not bleed through, change colour your are using to Slst, when the colour of the project changes. Ch 1 and cut yarn when you get to top stitch.
Using a tapestry needle, gather the top of the beanie and close the top. Add a pompom if you choose.
