I love the design of this hat created by front post double crochet and back post double crochet stitches. This hat works up quick and as the option of with or without brim. This hat is also reversible.
This post contains the written instructions for this unique hat in size 0-3 months to help keep your baby warm and cozy. It’s very beginner friendly and a very easy pattern. The written pdf pattern contains seven sizing options from 0-3 months to large adults. Yes! Everyone in the family can get a similar hat! The 0-3 months size is written below.

Pattern note
- The hat is worked top down.
- Ch 2 at the beginning of the row does not count as a stitch.
- The hat is reversible.
- The hat has the option of with or without fold.
Pattern instructions
0-3 months size
Round 1: Make a magic ring, Ch 2, make 1 Dc into the magic ring , mark stitch, work additional 11 Dc in the ring. Finish the round with a slst to the 1st Dc. (12 Dc)
Round 2: Ch 2, 2 Dc in the first stitch and in each stitch across. Finish the round with a slst to the 1st Dc. (24 Dc)
Round 3: Ch 2, *make fpdc around the post of the 1st and 2nd stitch, Dc into the 3rd stitch, Bpdc around the post of the 3rd stitch.* Repeat across. Finish the round with a slst to the 1st fpdc. (32 stitches)
Round 4: Ch 2, *make fpdc around the post of the 1st and 2nd stitch, Dc into the 3rd stitch, Bpdc around the post of the 3rd and 4th stitch .* Repeat across. Finish the round with a slst to the 1st fpdc. (40 stitches)
Round 5: Ch 2, *make fpdc around the post of the 1st and 2nd stitch, Bpdc around the post of the 3rd,4th and 5th stitch .* Repeat across. Finish the round with a slst to the 1st fpdc. (40 stitches)
Round 6 – round 20: repeat round 5
Without fold: Stop at row 14, to finish, slst around the hat loosely. Finish the round with a slst to the beginning slst. Ch 1 and cut yarn.
FINISHING
Weave in all ends.
