Ch: Chain
Yo-Slst: Yarn over Slip stitch: yarn over insert hook into a specified stitch, yarn over pull through (three loops on your hook), pull the first loop on your hook through the remaining two loops to complete the stitch
Blo: Back loops only
Slst: Slip stitch
Gauge :15 stitches /17 rows = 10 cm/4 inches in pattern stitch
Pattern note
• The hat is worked flat. Chain up for the height and the number of rows is the circumference of the head.
• Ch 1 at the beginning of the row does not count as a stitch.
• The hat is worked sideways
• Make sure your slst is loose so that it will be easy to work into on the next row
Pattern Instructions
Chain 26(31,33,35,37,39,40,44,46)
Row 1: Yo-slst into the second chain from the hook. Yo-slst in each stitch across. 25(30,32,34,36,38,39,43,45) stitches.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn. Slst in the blo of the first stitch and in each stitch across. 25(30,32,34,36,38,39,43,45) stitches.
Row 3: Ch 1, turn. Yo-slst in the blo of the first stitch and in each stitch across. 25(30,32,34,36,38,39,43,45) stitches.
Row 4- Row 38(42,46,52,56,62,68,72,76): Repeat row 2-3. 25(30,32,34,36,38,39,43,45) stitches.
Ch 1 and cut yarn. Leave a long tail for sewing
Finishing
Use a tapestry needle with the long tail to sew up the side seam of the hat, then gather the top and sew it in place
Attached pompom and weave in all ends.
