Crocheting sneakers has always been a struggle for a lot of people . That is what inspired me to make this pattern. It is worked in rows, it is so beginner friendly and the final sneakers are so cute. It comes out even cuter when you use gender specific colours. The written pdf pattern contains three sizing options. The 0-3 size is written below.

Materials:

3.5 mm crochet hook

Worsted weight yarn

Colour A = Cream

Colour B = Green

Stitch markers (Optional)

Yarn needle

Difficulty:

Advanced beginner

Stitch Guide (US Version):

Ch:  Chain

Sc: Single Crochet

Hdc: Half double crochet

Slst: Slip stitch

Pattern Notes

  • Ch 1 or 2 at the beginning of the row does not count as a stitch
  • The sneakers is worked flat
  • The sneakers is worked bottom up

Pattern Instructions

Ch 25

 Row 1: 1 Sc in the 2nd chain from the hook, Mark the stitch with a stitch marker,  1 Sc  in each stitch across. (24 stitches)

Row 2: Ch 2, 2 Hdc in the 1st stitch, mark the very first stitch, 1 Hdc in the next 8 stitches, 2 Hdc in each of the next 6 stitches, 1 Hdc in the next 8 stitches, 2 Hdc in the last stitch. (32 stitches)

Row 3: Ch 2,  2 Hdc in the 1st stitch, mark the very first stitch, 1 Hdc in the next  30 stitches,  2 Hdc in the last stitch. (34 stitches)

Row 4: 1 Sc in the front loop only of the 1st stitches, mark stitch, 1 SC in the front loops only  of the next 12 stitches. 1 Sc in the front loop only of the next stitch,  mark stitch,  1 Sc in the front loop only of the next 7 stitches. (21 stitches)

 Ch 1, turn, Slst into the last Sc made, mark stitch, 1 Hdc in the next 6 stitches,  remove previous stitch marker Slst into the next 2 stitches.

 Ch 1,turn,do not work in the very 1st stitch, Slst in the next 2 stitches, 1 Hdc in the next 4 stitches, Slst in the next 2 stitches.

 Finish row 4 by working 1 Sc in front loops only of the remaining 13 stitches. finish the last Sc with Slst with colour B (34 stitches) .

Row 5:  (With colour B) Ch 1, turn, 1 Sc in the 1st stitch, mark stitch, 1 Sc in each stitch across. finish the last Sc with Slst with colour A. (34 stitches.)

Row 6:  (With colour A ) Ch 1, turn, 1 Sc in the 1st stitch, mark stitch, 1 Sc in each stitch across (34 stitches)

 Row 7: Repeat row 6. finish the last Sc with Slst with colour B (34 stitches)

Left side

Row 1:(With colour B) Slst to the left side of the sneakers Ch 1, turn, 1 Sc in the 1st stitch, mark stitch, 1 Sc in of the next 13 stitches. Total 14 stitches.

Row 2: Ch 1, turn, Slst in the first stitch,(note: The slip stitches are not counted again) 1 Sc in the next, mark stitch, Ch 1, skip next stitch, 1Sc in the remaining 11 stitches.  Total  13 stitches.

Row 3: Ch 1, 1 Sc in the 1st stitch, 1 Sc in the next 11stitches including the Ch 1 space,  Slst in the last stitch. (12 stitches)

Row 4: Ch 1, turn, Slst in the first stitch, 1 Sc in the next, mark stitch, Ch 1, skip next stitch, 1 Sc in the remaining 9 6stitches. (11 stitches)

Row 5: Ch 1, 1 Sc in the 1st stitch, 1 Sc in the next 10 stitches including the Ch 1 space. Total  11 stitches.

Row 6: Ch 1, turn, Slst in the first stitch, 1 Sc in the next, mark stitch, Ch 1, skip next stitch, 1Sc in the remaining 8 stitches.(10 stitches)

Row 7: Ch 1, 1 Sc in the 1st stitch, 1 Sc in the next 8 stitches including the Ch 1 space,  Slst in the last stitch. (9 stitches)

 Row 8: Ch 1, turn, Slst in the first stitch, 1 Sc in the next, mark stitch, Ch 1, skip next stitch, 1 Sc in the remaining 6stitches. (8 stitches).

 Row 9: Ch 1, 1 Sc in the 1st stitch, 1 Sc in the next 7 stitches including the Ch 1 space. (8 stitches)

Row 10: Ch 1, 1 Sc in the 1st stitch, 1 Sc in the next 7 stitches. (8 stitches ) Cut yarn.

Right side

Row 1:(With colour B) Slst to the other side of the sneaker Ch 1,  1 Sc in the 1st stitch, mark stitch, 1 Sc in of the next 13 stitches. (14 stitches).

Row 2-10: Work the same as left side

 Note: The Ch 1 spaces are the holes the sneakers lace will pass through.

SNEAKERS TONGUE

Row 1: (With Colour B), Slst to the 1st of the remaining 6 stitches, Ch 1,  Sc in the same stitch, mark stitch, 1 Sc in the remaining 5 stitches. Finish last Sc  with Slst with Colour A. (6 stitches).

Row 2: Ch 1,  Sc in the same stitch, mark stitch, 1 Sc in the remaining 5 stitches. (6 stitches).

Row 3-12: Repeat row 2

Row 13: Repeat row 2. Cut yarn.

Make the second sneaker.

SHOE LACE: Chain 100

FINISHING

With right sides facing, sew up seam, the part with Colour A should be sewn with Colour A yarn, the part with Colour B should be sewn with Colour B  yarn. Weave in ends.
