Crocheting sneakers has always been a struggle for a lot of people. That is what inspired me to make this pattern. It is worked in rows, it is so beginner friendly and the final sneakers are so cute. It comes out even cuter when you use gender specific colours. was wondering. The spike detailing makes it resembles footballers sneakers.

The written pdf pattern contains three sizing options. The 0-3 size is written below.

Materials:

3.5 mm crochet hook

worsted weight yarn – 200g (100g each of Colour A and B)

Colour A = White

Colour B = Grey

Stitch markers (Optional)

Yarn needle

Difficulty:

Beginner

Gauge :

18 stitches /16 rows= 10 cm/4 inch square in Sc

Stitch Guide (US Version):

Ch:  Chain

Sc: Single Crochet

Hdc: Half double crochet

Dc: Double crochet

Slst: Slip stitch

Pattern note

  • Ch 1 or Ch 2 at the beginning of a row doesn’t count as a stitch
  • Ch 2, which serves as shoe lace hole counts as just 1 stitch.

 Pattern Instructions:

Ch 24

Row 1: 1 Sc in the 2nd chain from the hook, Mark the stitch with a stitch marker,  1 Sc  in each stitch across. 23 stitches.

Row 2: Ch 2, turn. 2 Hdc in the 1st stitch, mark the very first stitch, 1 Hdc in the next 8 stitches, 2 Hdc in each of the next 2 stitches, 3 Hdc in the next stitch, 2 Hdc in each of the next 2 stitches, 1 Hdc in the next 8 stitches, 2 Hdc in the last stitch. 31 stitches.

Row 3: Ch 2,  turn. 2 Hdc in the 1st stitch, mark the very first stitch, 1 Hdc in the next  14 stitches,  3 Hdc in the next stitch. 1 Hdc in the next  14 stitches. 2 Hdc in the last stitch. 35 stitches.

Row 4: Ch 1, turn. 1 Sc in the front loop only of the 1st stitches, mark stitch, 1 SC in the front loops only  in each stitch across, finish the last Sc with Slst using colour B  35. Cut Colour A

Row 5:  (With colour B) Ch 1, turn, 1 Sc in the 1st stitch, mark stitch, 1 Sc in each stitch across. finish the last Sc with Slst using colour A. 35 stitches. Cut  Colour B

Row 6:  (With colour A ) Ch 1, turn, 1 Sc in the 1st stitch, mark stitch, 1 Sc in each stitch across. Finish the last Sc with Slst using Colour B. 35 stitches. Ch1 and cut yarn.

Right side

Row 1:(With colour B) Ch 1, turn, 1 Sc in the 1st stitch, mark stitch, 1 Sc in  each of the next 12 stitches. Total 13 stitches.

Row 2: Ch 1, turn, Sc in first stitch. Ch 2, skip a stitch, Sc in the remaining 11 stitches. Total 13 stitches.

Row 3: Ch 1, turn. 1 Sc in the 1st stitch, 1 Sc in the next 10 stitches, Sc2tog. Total 12

Row 4: Ch 1, turn, Sc in the first stitch, 1 Sc in the remaining  stitches. 12 stitches.

Row 5: Ch 1, turn. 1 Sc in the 1st stitch, 1 Sc in the next 9 stitches, Ch 2 skip a stitch, Sc in the last stitch. Total  12 stitches.

Row 6: Ch 1, turn, Sc in the first stitch, 1 Sc in the remaining stitches. 12 stitches.

Row 7: Ch 1, 1 Sc in the 1st stitch, 1 Sc in the next 9 stitches. Sc2tog. Total 11 stitches.

Row 8: Ch 1, turn, Sc in first stitch. Ch 2, skip a stitch, Sc in the remaining 9 stitches. Total 11 stitches.

Row 9: Ch 1, turn, Sc in the first stitch, 1 Sc in the remaining  stitches. 11 stitches.

Row 10: Ch 1, turn. Sc2tog, Sc in the remaining 9 stitches. 10 stitches.

Row 11: Ch 1, turn. 1 Sc in the 1st stitch, 1 Sc in the next 7 stitches, Ch 2 skip a stitch, Sc in the last stitch. Ch 1 and cut yarn. Total  10 stitches.

Left side

Row 1: Count 13 stitches from the left end (With colour B) attach yarn with a Slst to the 13th stitch from the left end of the sneakers. Ch 1,  1 Sc in the 1st stitch, mark stitch, 1 Sc in of the next 12 stitches. Total 13 stitches.

Row 2: Ch 1, turn, Sc in first stitch. 1 Sc in the next 10 stitches.,Ch 2, skip a stitch, Sc in the last stitch. 13 stitches.

Row 3: Ch 1, turn. Sc2tog, Sc in the remaining  11 stitches.  Total 12 stitches.

Row 4: Ch 1, turn, Sc in the first stitch, 1 Sc in the remaining  stitches. Total 12 stitches.

Row 5: Ch 1, turn, Sc in first stitch. Ch 2, skip a stitch, Sc in the remaining 10 stitches. Total 12 stitches.

Row 6: Ch 1, turn, Sc in the first stitch, 1 Sc in the remaining stitches. 12 stitches.

Row 7: Ch 1, turn. Sc2tog, Sc in the remaining  10 stitches.  Total 11 stitches.

Row 8: Ch 1, turn, Sc in first stitch. 1 Sc in the next 8 stitches.,Ch 2, skip a stitch, Sc in the last stitch. 11 stitches.

Row 9: Ch 1, turn, Sc in the first stitch, 1 Sc in the remaining  stitches. 11 stitches.

Row 10: Ch 1, turn. 1 Sc in the 1st stitch, 1 Sc in the next 8 stitches., Sc2tog. Total 10 stitches.

Row 11: Ch 1, turn, Sc in first stitch. Ch 2, skip a stitch, Sc in the remaining 8 stitches.  Ch 1 and cut yarn. Total  10 stitches.

Note: The Ch 2 spaces are the holes the sneakers lace will pass through.

SNEAKERS TONGUE

Row 1: (With Colour A ), Attach yarn with a slst to the last worked stitch from right side of the sneakers. Ch 2, 1 Dc in to the same stitch, Dc2tog, Dc in next stitch, Dc3tog, Dc in next stitch, Dc2tog, Dc into the last worked stitch on the left side.  (7 stitches).

Row 2: Ch 2,  Dc in the same stitch, Dc in next stitch,Dc3tog, Dc in last 2 stitches. (7 stitches).

Row 3: Ch 2, Dc in the same stitch, Dc3tog, Dc in the last stitch. Ch 1 and cut yarn. (3 stitches)

Row 4: (With colour B). Attached yarn to the side of the first stitch from row 1. Ch 1, Sc in the same space, 1 Sc on the side of Dc of row 2 and 3, Sc into the 3 stitches from previous row. Sc on the left side of row 3,2 and 1.

Row 5: Ch 1, Sc the first stitch and in each stitch across. (9 stitches)

Row 6-14: repeat row 5

Spikes

The spikes are worked clockwise. They are worked around the stitches as one will do a post stitch. They are made using 6 stitches each , 3 from row 3 and 3 from row 2 of the sole. The centre spike is worked around the 3 Hdc worked into the same stitch on row 3 and 2.

Start by making the centre spike

Centre spike: insert your hook into the Hdc on your right on the 3rd row and also the Hdc on your right on the 2nd row, attach yarn with a Slst, and pull through, Sc around the 3 Hdc on row 3 and continue clockwise to the 3 Hdc on row 2. Join with a slst

Row 2: Ch 1, Sc2tog thrice, join with a Slst. Ch 1 and cut yarn.

Frontal spikes: skip 3 stitches on row 3 and 2 stitches on row 2 from the centre spike and make frontal spikes.

Back spikes: skip 4 stitches on row 3 and 3 stitches on row 2 from the frontal spikes and make back spikes

Make the second sneaker.

SHOE LACE: Chain 100

FINISHING

With right sides facing, sew up seam, the part with Colour A should be sewn with Colour A yarn, the part with Colour B should be sewn with Colour B  yarn. Weave in ends.

FINISHED BOOTIES
