The pleated crochet baby bonnet pattern like all my other crochet baby bonnet patterns, is worked in the round for the first five rounds and then worked in rows, then the pleated edge is made and finally the straps are added, and our cute crochet baby bonnet is ready!

Pattern Instructions
0-6 months
Round 1: Make a magic ring, Ch 2, make 1 Dc into the magic ring , mark stitch, work additional 11 Dc in the ring. Finish the round with a slst to the 1st Dc. (12 Dc)
Round 2: Ch 2, turn. 2 Dc in the first stitch and in each stitch across. Finish the round with a slst to the 1st Dc. (24 Dc)
Round 3: Ch 2, turn. 2 Dc in the first stitch,*1Dc in the next two stitches 2 Dc in the next stitch * repeat till the end of round. 1 Dc in each of the last two stitches. Finish the round with a slst to the 1st Dc. (32 Dc)
Round 4: Ch 2, turn. 2 Dc in the first stitch, *1Dc in the next three stitches 2 Dc in the next stitch * repeat till the end of round. 1 Dc in each of the last three stitches. Finish the round with a slst to the 1st Dc. (40 Dc)
Round 5: Ch 2, turn. 2 Dc in the first stitch, *1Dc in the next four stitches 2 Dc in the next stitch * repeat till the end of round. 1 Dc in each of the last four stitches. Finish the round with a slst to the 1st Dc. (48 Dc)
We will work in rows from here on
Row 6: Ch 2, turn Dc3tog, Dc into each stitch across. Finish row with Dc2tog in the last two stitches. (45 stitches)
Row 7: Ch 2, turn. Dc into the first stitch and into each stitch across (45 stitches)
Rows 8-12: Repeat rows 7
Row 13: Ch 2, turn. Dc 5 in Blo, Dc 5 in Blo of the same stitches, Dc 5 in Flo of the same stitches repeat 8 times. 135 stitches.
Rows 14: Ch 2, turn. Dc into the first stitch and into each stitch across (135 stitches). Ch 1 and cut yarn.
STRAP
CH 38, join with a Slst to a side of the bonnet on row 12. Work 2 Sc through the side of each row (14 Sc). Work 2 Sc on the side of each row on the other side, (14 Sc) Ch 39
Slst in the second chain from hook and in each of the remaining 37 chains. Sc through the Sc from the previous row till you get to the chains. Slst in each chain across. Ch 1 and cut yarn.
FINISHING
Weave in all ends.
